Over on The Flash's television series it appears that Jay Garrick has been cast!
A somewhat dissapointing choice in opting for a younger Jay over the well loved seasoned veteran, but as an introduction it does hark back to the days when Barry and Jay shared a very special relationship in comics. Whether this modern television version of Jay Garrick will ever become such a close friend as back in the heydays of those newsstand distributed comics remains to be seen, but for those who remember those days the times when Barry or Jay paid the other a visit were one of the highlights of the publishing year....

The Forgotten Irv Norvick - Few if any remember Norvick's solidly impressive work, particularly on The Flash where he had a lengthy run that dfined the character in the mid 1970s. He is an artist I have been reaquainting myself with in recent months and like Don Heck or Don Newton deserves to be much better remembered than he actually id... a generation of prodigous artists from this era are now, sadly, all but forgotten today. Irv Norvick being a prime example.

At least we know what his helmet looks like, so hopefully the rest of his costume will be traditional, not nu52.

Watch. When the new season starts, they'll have refilmed the helmet scene and retconned it into the full head helmet of the current Jay.

"Can't have the old stuff kicking around, can we? We're the MODERN DC Comics!" (The one that's destroying itself.)
