I've always been a big Justice Society fan
However, I never cared about original Ted Knight Starman in the reprints I started out on, and the couple of attempts to revive the team.
I also gave no rats patoots about Jack.
He was sorta gone by the time I got into the Johns/ Robinson run.
But I just got the compendium and, dang, the Robinson Starman series is fantastic. I get why it’s a classic.

My brother picked up the issues when it came out. I think I read the entire thing at the time, and I liked it. It seems like it started out trying to be kind of an anti-superhero comic but it became more heroic as it went. Jack certainly seemed like the coffee shop hipster. Maybe his type was kind of gone by the 2000s when his character faded.
