I think Carol Danvers and Sharon Ventura (also Ms. Marvel) both served in the military.

Sharon Ventura was sent to a military high-school by her Army officer father, but she dropped out when she refused to tattle on a cheating student. That's the extent of her "military" background.

After dropping out, she got into "extreme sports," particularly stunt-cycling, eventually joining up with Team America. That's where she met Ben. After this she briefly joined the Unlimited Wrestling thing.
