....and gets promptly wasted in a single page. I'm talking about Zzzax. Take a look at the preview of the new SHE-HULK issue he's in next week (there are previews of other books, too).

One of my favorite Zzzax issues was when he fought Luke Cage in POWER MAN #47. Did you read that one? It took an entire issue to defeat the mighty Zzzax. Now he's a chump in a long line of chumps. *sigh* Poor Zzzax. I think he's still a very viable villain in this day and age, but alas....

I'm not a Slott apologist, but let's look at Zzzax's chumpitude in context. In the first few pages, much like a musical montage(with accompanying altered Ghostbusters theme) the Hulkbusters round up a bunch of old Hulk foes. We are not privy to all that takes place. You can carry this over to the Zzzax fight. We only see the conclusion. Zzzax even states that he needs more energy(and thus he's probably vulnerable at this point) and let's face it-SHIELD has access to the most sophisticated scientific equipment on Earth. If anyone has a way to contain Zzzax it's them. The point of the current arc in She-Hulk is to have Jen round up a lot of old Hulk foes for Tony's "Project Acchiles". Although it hasn't been revealed yet, I'm sure it's one of Tony's precautions against the Hulk's return.

Obviously I haven't read the entire issue yet and could have a different opinion next week, but I don't really mind this. There could be a fight that lasts 10 pages, but there would be less time to focus on what seems to be the focal point of this issue;to have Jen discover Stark's role in Bruce's dissapearance. Now that I'm looking forward to!

And to be fair, the last couple of issues had long battles with both the Abombination and Wendigo. I'll also be the first to admit that Abombination didn't receive the respect he deserves in that issue.

Zzzax may have some time in the spotlight during the World War Hulk series. Yeah, he got captured like a ghoul from Ghostbusters but I don't think it is a big deal. But that's me.

Of course everyone has their favorite characters, so reaction is going to differ, that's why I try to stay out of the "you're ruining my favorite charcters' debates which stir up the passions of many fans.

Ghostbusted or head in toilet...which is worse? \:\-\)
