> Raw and untrained or not, Armory still saw it as a good idea to take down Ultimo singlehandedly. And yes, they had researched her powers and she had claimed that the weapon had a safety.
They clearly didn't even BEGIN to research Trauma's power though. If they'd just ASKED him what he could do, he might have said "I morph into anyone nearby's greatest fear... they have a tendency to go nuts when I do that." and they'd have through better than to but him next to a woman whose powers involved sodding big guns and is terrified of spiders, never mind bloody enormous monster spiders.
> The scandal here isnt that the kid died,
I think you might have a deeply distorted perception of what counts as a scandal then....
> Plus, what did the heroes do after the incident? they took away her powers and kicked her out. Good for them. Thats more responsibility than has been seen in the Marvel Universe in a Long Long time.
And their responsibility towards MVP, and his family whose care they took him from, was....?
If that is the effect that Trauma's powers have, how might even Gauntlet have reacted.
I thought War Machines casual dismissal of essentially, "Oh he can make all the tasteless comments about your dead friends he wants because he gets results" to Justice to be tacky beyond words.
Pym's refusal to answer a very simple and obvious question about "What happens if we flunk training" was indicative of how complwetely flawed this whole set up is. I imagine a LOT of parents might have already asked this, what answer did THEY get?
Never mind they are also, presumably, training up people who might well decide to become VILLAINS instead.
