Firestar, actually, but yeah. Of course, as an Avenger, she would have legally had the training anyway...

Front Line. We've since heard that it was actually an escape plan that looked like a suicide attempt. (He can't die from blowing his head off... Battle Damage report is the source.) It wasn't a negative effect on HUMAN minds, by the way. It was a negative effect on his computerized mind, that also applied to Coldblood 7. It got better eventually, apparently.

He was held in a regular prison for a while as well... and, I believe he was formally charged... wasn't that how he got shot at his hearing?
