> The skrull was tapping the book the Illiad, which tells us about the Trojan horse story and the sneak attack. The whole theme of the invasion was that as a skrull said on the same page that "My war against you did not begin when it was declared" and that "you cannot be insured against a disease you already contacted".

> So while SWORD was analyzing the tapping to discover a pattern or hidden meaning, they missed the most important hint, what he was tapping. Or to put in another way, SWORD was over-analyzing the situation by looking for hidden meanings in the tapping, instead of looking for the obvious ones.

> The three books on the table that the Skrull taps are the Illiad, Hamlet, and Bhagavad Gita. All three are about using deception in order to attack your enemies. No idea about the last book, but I think it does reading a synopsis of it.

Okay, I officially dislike the story now. Here I thought I'd liked my second Carey story ever but the Skrulls were actually being that obvious and no one caught it? Sheesh.

Wasn't your post about you not understanding the story and the reasons behind the tapping? Isn't that exactly what the story is about?

It seems weird that you would criticize the characters for not catching something obvious, when you didn't catch it either.

Even if you dismissed the meaning behind the books, SWORD did the same.
