> Just look at a number of pre-Civil War stories. Heroes were considered accountable under the old system and would be hunted by the police if they killed or hurt people (this happened to Spider-Man quite a few times, e.g. when he was suspected to have killed Gwen Stacy, usually until he proved his innocence and caught the real perp).
Not at all...how can you be held accountable when you never even show up to answer questions? When you always run away or beat up the law. Normal people need to go and answer police questions...but our unaccountable heroes just web them up...crack a joke and go on their merry way....suuuuurrreeee...thats accountability.
