I would guess this is hype by Brian Reed.

I don't read the book, but I'm guessing from the gossip and the interview and from reading Dark Avengers this week:

1. Carol refuses to joing Norman
2. Norman hurts her father to get back at Carol
3. Carol still won't join, but realisises to protect her loves ones, Carol Danvers must die
4. Carol fakes death and assumes a false identity
5. Reed has Moonstone take over booke for a 4-6 issue storyline
6. Bendis gets to use Carol how he wants in New Avengers.

So although the identity dies, and Reed isn't lying, Carol is still alive.

So don't panic

> When I say there are spoilers, I ain't kidding folks. So avert your eyes if you don't want spoiled... but I'm here to say three things... 1) I never expected to like a Ms. Marvel Comics. 2) It is one of my few "can't miss" pulls each month because of the fascinating character of Carol Danvers. 3) Killing Danvers off is one of the lamest, unimaginative things I have ever heard of in my life. You got me with issue #1... I am done right about... now... I don't know which is more tone deaf, politicians, or comic book publishers.
