The only point to her death and continued death was to force the Scott/Emma Freakshow, and that's gone. Thankfully!

I was generally pretty interested in the redemption tale of Emma, but again, as usual, I was entirely oblivious to so many stories that I bet made the whole thing implausible. In my on-again off-again experience of Emma, she was a villain who fell in love with Scott and then tried to be a hero for Scott's sake. (Pretty much identical to the Diamondback story line in the Captain America book, back when that book was readable.) Given my admittedly over-simplified rendering of what she's been doing all these years, it makes sense that Emma would go back to being a villain, now that Scott is dead.

On the other hand, bringing her back can't be a good sign for Rachel.

The fact is that no character can fill the niche that Jean can. Rachel has the most potential to, but no one seems interested in doing it.

With Scott and Professor X dead, what would you say Jean's niche is? Are you focusing on her power set or some other aspect(s) of who she is?
