I hate him for tons of reasons.

    1. He never ages...My dad was 7 when he was introduced.
    2. He's designed to be saccharine sweet
    3. His powers let him do anything

I can completely understand these, although very few characters actually age. Spidey's been stuck at basically the same age since I started reading comics. The O5 X-Men have been stuck at the same age since the late-70s, as well. Scott & Jean were supposedly 25/26 when Jeanix died on the Moon. They aren't significantly any older.

    4. He reminds me of those creepy village of the damned kids.

I don't get this. He's far more emotive than they were and completely uncreepy. I'd give just about anything to have a next-door neighbour kid like him. He's not even like Anthony Fremont. He's just a genuinely sweet, mild-mannered, happy kid.

    5. The children stifle the Fantastic Four and the kind of stories you can do with Reed and Sue. And worse he stifles Johnny and Ben...their romances always sour because the Fantastic Four can't deal with Johnny or Ben settling down.

I don't think this is really true. Reed and Sue have never been held back. Johnny's and Ben's relationship issues have nothing to do with Franklin, and everything to do with hack writers resetting the family every now and then, trying to pretend they're Stan &/or Jack, rather than having characters grow.

    6. Reed and Sue use Ben as their personal nanny. I get sick of Franklin/Ben stories. Maybe if we wasn't all soft he could beat more people.

Babysitting is what every "uncle" should be doing.
