Personally I think the Fantastic Four are just... not filmable. Ben alone will just never look right. You can't make Doom cool for a modern audience...either you already like him and you like him for who and what he really is or you just won't ever like the character...there is no repackaging him to make him more palatable for modern audiences. If you make the team retro they look outdated if you make the team too modern they lose their kitsch.

I don't think a good Fantastic Four movie can be done. That said it would be nice to have their supporting cast without actually having them. I don't think I would want to see another Fantastic Four movie (ever) but I do want to see the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Terrax, the Skrulls etc. Their supporting cast is better than the team itself IMO.
