And this is where it dies horribly and shamefully. The new corners aren't going to be nearly as good.

I'm no movie-making-expert, but couldn't Marvel Studios find other actors to play Stark/IM, Cap, Thor, etc. after the current ones? It's not like they haven't done it before (Bruce Banner actor Edward Norton replaced with Mark Ruffalo; James Rhodes/War Machine actor Terrence Howard replaced with Don Cheadle).

I expect we'll have a few years without the Big 4 and then, when they return, they'll be played by new actors.

But Marvel has lots and lots of characters. The movies have barely scratched the surface. Any of these other characters could become breakout stars. I mean, come on - Star Lord? Who saw that coming? Put the right actor, scripter, and director together, and I contend that nearly any character could be made into a hit. When you start to doubt it, think - Ant Man? What the-?

Now that Disney seems to be closing the deal with Fox, one movie I guarantee we'll see is The Silver Surfer. Out in the mainstream, non-comic-book-buying community, the Silver Surfer is known and loved. All they know is what he looks like - they may not even know his name -
but they love him because he looks so cool. Movie guaranteed.

Also don't be surprised if Mark Ruffalo keeps appearing when the other three of the Big 4 have faded into the sunset. His character is one of the best guest stars in the entire Marvel Universe.
