But making a buddy movie between two characters who have nothing to do with each other in the comics does not make sense to me \:\)

I mean why even do a buddy movie between 2 characters who are neither buddies or rivals.

Because I think they'd work well together. They're both fun-loving. (Or Wonder Man used to be. Now he's Gandhi so I don't know.) They could both be portrayed as the type who would love to play a good prank on someone. I don't know if Gandhi would like that but I wouldn't present Wonder Man in his current comic book personality.

Also they're both equivalently powered so they could handle similar threat levels. Plus Wonder Man could be played as very modern, up on all the modern technology, lingo, and style, while Herc could be played as very old-fashioned and behind the times. Sort of a Tony Stark/Steve Rogers dichotomy. (I'm thinking of the Wonder Man who used to be nicknamed "Hollywood" and used to be a film actor. He would presumably be very hip and up to date.)

Do something the comics might have done instead of worrying whether they actually did it or not.

Yeah but they're like too similar. The joy of the buddy film is characters who are different. Or a duo who are actually buddies. Neither applies.

Now Hercules and Black Panther...they have radically different temperaments.
