It's been confirmed that Dr. Minerva will be in the film.

Longtime readers will know, that before Moonstone, Minerva was Carol's "evil counterpart" in the comics (without fighting her.)

Didn't know that. But "Dr. Minerva" is a great super villain name while also being a name that someone could have as their regular everyday name which makes it perfect for a Marvel movie.

So we've got Carol, Mar-vell, Dr Minerva, Nick Fury and Maria Hill confirmed.

I thought this movie was set in the 90s. Is Maria Hill old enough to have been a grown-up in the 90s?

With rumors of Ben Mendohlson possibly playing Yon-Rogg.
(Or maybe a Yon-Rogg/Captain Atlas type character)

Hopefully Yon-Rogg. The name Att-Lass is too silly.

DeWanda Wise is cast, and a lot of people think she'll be Monica Rambeau. But I'm leaning toward the Skrull Queen, since the Skrulls need someone who's not a mook to lead them.

Plus if DeWanda WERE Monica, I think Marvel would have told fans by now.

Why would Monica Rambeau be in a Carol Danvers movie? The fact that she was called Captain Marvel in the comics would make her less likely, not more, to appear in the film.

Meanwhile, Wikipedia had this to say about "Spectrum":
During the "Last Days" part of the Secret Wars storyline, Spectrum devised a plan to destroy Earth-1610 to keep it from colliding with Earth-616. In desperation during the two weeks before the end of the world, Spectrum channeled her full power and went to destroy Earth-1610. However, right before she could successfully destroy the other Earth, she spotted a group of children who lived there, causing her to hesitate for only a moment, long enough for Ultimate Reed Richards to capture her.

Yeah, that was pretty much the stupidest thing I've ever read. She didn't know kids lived on Earth-1610? She had to actually SEE some kids in order to know there were kids there? I know it says she hesitated "for only a moment" but if she hadn't made peace with killing children, she shouldn't have embarked on this nightmarish escapade to begin with. After all, it wasn't a spur of the moment decision. She apparently spent two weeks channeling her full power.

Maybe Monica World-Killer will appear in the movie after all. As a world-killer.
