Is it just me, or did Marvel go overboard in recent years with killing off almost every single character at one point or another? I remember about 15 years ago when Joe Quesada put out an edict that said the only character deaths that can happen should be meaningful and irreversible. Now it seems like most of the X-Men have died at one point or another, along with probably half of the avengers, and the entire incredible Hulk supporting cast.

Agreed! It’s just so unbelievable and old now! I’m fine with a fake out story or a reversal by the end of the story that says “this” is what really happened, “it was mysterious all along” or even “replaced by a skrull” but I’m over the death and resurrection plots where people come back from the dead. No one stays dead for more than a year or so, so why should I care that they were killed? Why should I spend $5.99 on the issue when the death is just for shock value, never has any lasting impact and never is really meaningful? In 20 issues and 3 relaunches later the character will just be back and we will be pretending this never happened.
