Quote:I think it was Rhodey or Banner who pointed out the philosophical problem of killing baby Hitler. The problem here is that the Thanos who dusted everyone was already dead. This is an earlier version who hasn’t committed the crime yet. Killing him doesn’t satisfy vengeance, it doesn’t punish wrongdoing. That the heroes were so willing to do it is bothersome.
First, only one hero does it, Iron Man. Second, this is not bothersome at all. This was war and the consequence of this Thanos winning was no longer half of life in the universe being gone but 99.99999% as this Thanos stated that he wanted no one left alive who would remember. Plus this Thanos and his forces had already killed half the population of countless worlds. That would be many, many billions of people dead. That already earns punishment. Thanos is both punished and a casualty of a war he himself caused.
