I would put John Byrne on Alpha Flight with the condition that he explore an alternate timeline from #12 and that he keep the book grounded in Canada, so settings, culture, myths, all that, more exploration into the Omega Flight team. Sabretooth as an adversary, team up with Captain Britain and the Black Knight.

Yeah! Byrne back on Alpha Flight should be good any which way! Some of my asks would include: for him to permanently shut down the AFSS (or at least that damned copycat name), remove Northstar from all the Krakoa malarky, and reveal Puck was temporatily "tall" human thru magic because his parentage was actually dwarvish.

I wouldn't mind seeing Byrne explore some of what he had wanted to do with the timelines story he had planned for WCA.

Hmm! What story was that???

I miss Dad & Dan.

Remember how when Byrne was doing his WCA run there were these interludes with Immortus in some other dimension watching events unfold in different timelines? You may remember one where he ensured the murder of Lincoln. He seemed to be trying to keep different alternate realities from happening, and this was going to be connected to Wanda's powers, which Byrne was redefining as being able to alter the past.

(There was a page where Pym was testing Wanda's powers by having her shatter a metal bar. When she shattered it, the picture of the bar before she acted on it showed faults and flaws that weren't there before. I thought this was a good way to demonstrate how Byrne was explaining her powers.)

So recently I read that Byrne was planning to expand this into a crossover story where Immortus had used Wanda's powers in a way that created a new reality (like happened in House of X), and the Black Knight would wake up in this new reality as the only person who remembered how it was supposed to be.

Here's that article. https://bleedingcool.com/comics/recent-updates/did-john-byrne-create-new-marvel/
