The original MOTU was the first cartoon ever made for the premise of selling toys and some of the episodes are still good to watch.

I like the one where Skeletor tricked He-Man into thinking he killed an innocent man by accident. Adam goes to Greyskull to relinquish the power and then when he learns the truth he of course has to get it back.

The 2002 MOTU was so much better, Better stories, the origins of He-Man and Skeletor were told, HORDAK was going to be the new nemesis if they had a third season....

.....and we do not speak of SHE-RA

That episode is "The Problem With Power" and was written by Paul Dini, IIRC. It's one of the few I still like to watch. Most of my love for the show is pure nostalgia... it isn't that great overall.

I enjoyed elements of the 2002 series as well, but it still had its rough spots. I thought Skeletor's origin was overly simplistic and not all that interesting, for example.
