Wow! What a great World Series and baseball season for the Boston Red Sox. Hat off to Gernot's St. Louis Cardinals for a great season as well. They've been a force for the last decade, and with players like Wacha, Carpenter, Martinez and Rosenthal, I think they'll be playoff favorites for a while.

As a Red Sox fan since 1978, there was a lot of heartbreak up until 2004, the greatest being the 1986 World Series. I was 16, and was able to go to game 4. A friend of mine was a vendor, and, back then, he was able to get into the ballpark, borrow another vendor's badge, come outside and give it to me, and then we both walked right in. It was standing room only, and I don't have a ticket stub, but it was a magical event. The Sox, with Al Nipper pitching, lost to the Mets that night, and went on to lose the series, although being one pitch away from victory in game 6, when the ball infamously went through Bill Buckner's legs, but that seems so far away right now. With three World Series wins in the last 10 years, the Red Sox have totally lost that "lovable losers" identity which the Cubs embody all by themselves now.

I tell my nephews that they don't even know what it was like to be a Red Sox fan back then, as all they know is winning.

Congratulations to World Series MVP David Ortiz, Dustin Pedroia, John Lester, John Lackey, and all the rest for a great season. After the Boston Marathon bombing, and last years last place finish, this was an incredible moment for the city of Boston.

Thanks, Nose. \:\)

It's my personal feeling that no one in my city should be angry or upset at the Cards at ALL. Lookit the past ten years: 2004, 2006, 2011, and 2013. We've been in FOUR World Series in nine years and won TWO of 'em! That's NOTHIN' to sneeze at! Heck, if we SOMEHOW manage to get in there next year, we'll have been in 50% of the World Series in a decade! ;\)

And Ron, I think ANY World Series would be fun to talk about, along with any and all Super Bowls. \:\)
