Thanks for playing this. It's a great punk rock song from the early 80's. I don't think I've seen "The Basketball Diaries" since it first came out. I might have to look it up again.

And now, on with the rest of this week's selections! \:\)

I remember this video. "Eye Of The Tiger" was such a huge hit that you think of Survivor as a one-hit-wonder, but they had quite a few hits.

I always liked this song. I remember watching the video quite often back in my high school days.

One of the greatest videos from the 80's. This was a giant hit. Great song too. A true classic that I still listen too whenever it comes on the radio.

I've never heard this Weird Al song before. There's some good parody lyrics in there, but Al's voice doesn't sound too good. An official video probably would've been hilarious.

I know the song, but never saw the video before. I probably remember it from over 18 dance clubs in the late 80's.

This was my favorite song as an early teen. I remember writing "Genex" on my schoolbooks because I didn't realize that "Gen. X" was short for "Generation X". Then, Billy Idol released it solo and MTV played it in heavy rotation and it became a huge hit. The video was directed by Tobe Hooper of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Poltergiest fame. Some scenes that I don't think I got when I was a kid are the husband swinging the sledge hammer near his wife and the guy with the blade and the girl in shadow tied up behind him. Some dark stuff.

Welp, that'll do it for another week, music lovers! I'll have more of the same, only different, NEXT week! ;\)

Great choices, Gernot!

I've been wanting to request "Cold Shot" by Stevie Ray Vaughn for weeks now, ever since PPP played the Three Stooges short "Crime On Their Hands" over on the G/S/B MB. The scene with the gorilla tossing around Dapper and Muscles reminded me of this hilarious video from 1984.
I see that Whispering Hands has a request in, so I'm ok with waiting if you don't want to be flooded with requests.
