Quote: Hey there, Villians and Damsels! I'm back with more music for all'a ye! We'll get to it right after a couple of requests!Quote: We've got Whispering Hands requesting "She Sells Sanctuary" by The Cult and Nose Norton requesting "Cold Shot" by Stevie Ray Vaughn. So, here we go!Quote: The Cultsings She Sells Sanctuary I always liked this song, but never ventured into the Cult's music. I remember it being all over the alternative rock station back in the 80's. Quote: Stevie Ray Vaughnsings Cold Shot This is the first Stevie Ray song I remember, and it's a good one. I love the video, too. Pretty funny, with all the guitars and the Stooges-esque dummy bits. Quote: Thanks for the requests, fellas! If anyone else has any requests, bring 'em on! And now, back to the countdown! ![]() Quote: Whitney Houstonsings How Will I Know I was never much into Whitney Houston, but I have heard this song quite a bit. Quote: Clarence Clemons & Jackson Brownesing You're A Friend Of Mine I don't remember this one at all. The song's ok but the video is awful. Videos were still a developing artform. Quote: Jeff Beck & Rod Stewartsing People Get Ready I liked this song. I remember thinking it strange that a guitarist would have an album with a bunch of different singers. "Ambitious" was a great song from Flash. Donny Osmond makes an appearance in it. Quote: Sagasings On The Loose I completely forgot about this song. It's very good. I remember seeing the video many times back in MTV's earliest days. Quote: Queensings Radio Ga Ga This song used to get a lot of ribbing. I want to say it's better than I remembered. Parts of it are, but it's still pretty goofy. Quote: Quiet Riotsings Come On Feel The Noize When I think of the video era, this is one of the first songs I think of. I'd outgrown the hairbands around the late 80's, but I can still listen to Quiet Riot. Seeing the video again for the first time in ages, I still knew every bit. I even looked up some other Quiet Riot videos and Slade videos afterward. Slade road QR's coat tails to their biggest hit with Run Runaway. Maybe we could see that next week. It's not a great song, but it is a feel good rocker. Quote: Well, that's it for this weekend! I'll have more schtuff next weekend! ![]() | |||||||
