    The Cars

The Cars were a hit machine in those early days of MTV. They had some innovative videos. I love Ric Ocasek's voice. Not typical rocker, but as individual as the band itself. I wonder if he ever accidentally stepped of the platform during filming?

This was a big hit. I remember the video very well.

Everyone loved this song in the summer of '82. It still holds up well, if you're into New Wave. Brings back memories.

This was never one of my favorite Blondie songs, but I like it. Like PPP said, the link is wrong.

I remember this song. I would've been around 11 or 12 when it was popular, so it's tough for me to break the feelings that a 12 year old boy would have for a song like this. Not a favorite.

Wow! Freddie must workout to maintain that figure. How'd he film that without cracking up? I don't remember this song at all. According to wiki, it was banned by MTV. That explains it.

Well, that'll do it for another week! Be here NEXT week when I bring in a few more songs/videos from the '80's! \:\)

This Queen song didn't get any airplay here in St. Louis. I don't know when MTV lifted the ban on this video, but I saw it during an "Original Vee-Jays" weekend back in '91 on MTV, then SEVERAL times on VH-1 after that. I think this video's been on VH-1 Classic a few times, too.
