1992's Godzilla Vs. Mothra is the 19th Godzilla movie from Toho Studios and the 4th of the Heisei series(1984-1995). As the title states, this film features the giant moth Mothra in her first appearance since 1968's Destroy All Monsters. Unadjusted for inflation, this movie is the highest grossing Godzilla movie from the entire series, with over 4 million tickets sold in Japan. Columbia Tristar Home Entertainment didn't release the film in the US until 1998.

Were Mothra and Battra presented as order (Mothra) and chaos (Battra)? I have this vague idea that the Twins in one (maybe more) of the movies explained the monsters (all monsters, including Godzilla) as avatars of order or chaos. I think Godzilla is on the side of chaos, but I may have this wrong.

Like you, I'm not impressed with the realism of Mothra's appearance. She looks like a toy. But from the trailer, I get the impression the battle scenes were well choreographed and the man in the Godzilla suit was very much into the role and did a great job.

Order and chaos were never mentioned. Battra was created to stop an ancient civilization's tinkering with Mother Nature. When Battra become too destructive, the earth created Mothra to battle Battra and restore balance. So, kind of yes, but not explicitly stated, at least in the English version. I didn't watch the Japanese one.
