Was the world different back then? I can name one big difference between the 80s, at least, and today: no internet. Today I find it hard to remember what it was like to want to know something and not be able to instantly find out.

The nihilistic 90s... that's how I used to think of that decade. I think we're still living in nihilistic times. That seemed like a shift from the 80s. How do you remember it?

I was born in 82. So I really can't appreciate the 80's in all its glory, not being a self aware for a decent part of it. Bits of my child hood is attached to the late 80's but it was the 90's where I really became a consious thinking being.

While I assume there is a bit of nastalgia blinding me and more than a bit of bitterness of becoming little more than a pile of decaying organs about 1/2 through the 2000's. I think the 90's were great.

I'll edit in more later as I continue to pretend to work
