Great song! I first heard it when I bought the 1987 Pretenders greatest hits album The Single. It's written for guitarist James Honeyman-Scott, who had recently died. Never saw the video before. Great pick!

"I'll go out with you
and see all the new
mutations on Christmas Day!" lol

I remember this one. Great fun.

This one used to be a treat to hear, then it got overplayed a bit, but I don't recall hearing it that often the last few years.

I like this one. It doesn't get played enough. Fun rocker.

I remember this one well. I have the Brain Drain tape but never bought it on CD. This was around the time I was seeing the Ramones every time they came to town. I remember the video getting played on MTV quite often.

I remember this video being played often on MTV in their early days. Great mix of the old and (at the time) new.

I've never heard this before, but I love it. Reminds me of Back To Wentzville.

I don't remember this. I think of Queen as a 70's band and forget a lot of their 80's music.
This was very good. Mercury really gets into the vocals.

Nothing from A Very Special Christmas? That's the first album I think of for Christmas albums from the 80's.

EDIT: Oh, and Fairytale Of New York by The Pogues is brilliant.

Don't miss any of the great Christmas music I hand-picked this year. \:\)
