I bought the He-Man Masters of the Universe Minicomic Collection (hardcover and 1,232 pages) for $20!

I never bought the toy and never watched the cartoon, but the idea of owning a complete set of the minicomics sold with the toy just seemed so cool to me, and at such a low price, that I had to have it!

How about you? Buy anything cool lately - relevant to our era?

I bought a lot of He-Man toys back in the day (or had them bought for me) and loved the mini-comics! Sometimes the mini-comic is all you got for a storyline in a toyline. Starriors, Sectaurs, they all had great mini comics. DC's Super Powers too.

Of course later on DC and Marvel got their hands on He-Man and I'd say "but it's not the same way the original story went!" because I was in the know. But it was all good.

I think like G.I. Joe and Transformers, they started with a story bible and character profiles for the toy line that became the basis for the later media. So the cartoons and comics would be different but sort of similar. I always found that interesting.

I'm working on a Masters of the Universe collage for this board and found a site with scans of all the original mini-comics (and Marvel and DC comics too), namely www.He-Man.org It was cool to see all the comics that I didn't originally own.

As for me, have I bought anything from the '80s-90s recently? My current hobby is collecting handheld electronic games, although many of them come from the '70s, my most recent acquisition is from 1983. It's a Star Wars inspired tabletop arcade known by many names, but the one I bought is called Firefox F-7.
