The problem is that Moore's Swamp Thing was so incredibly influential, it's hard to read them now and see how groundbreaking they were at the time. The entire Vertigo style, and a lot of what DC, Marvel, and Image have gone on to do, have roots (pardon the expression) in Swamp Thing.
