Love and still loved his X-Men issues. Lots of creativity, fun, and detail.

I think his art is pretty. Like I would never buy his stuff like Wildcats because the stories are awful but the art itself is quite nice. So I respect him as a guy who draws but I wouldn't ever want to read anything he's written.

Everything else of his I have greatly disliked; it's like an eyesore to me much of the time.

Lee, to me, is the personification of a soulless corporate style. All flash an no substance. There is no loving hand behind his pencils; just a very fine-tuned and calculated style that has shown to sell for whatever reasons.

It's not that I don't think he's incapable of fine work. Every now and then I spy a strong cover or panel or two from him. But not too often because he doesn't really care. He, like his buddies Liefeld and McFarlane, are professional money-makers, not professional artists, IMO.

Look, they went into this business to make a boatload, and succeeded. One can't argue with that.
