Either in live action or animation - do you think it could work? Or is it too high-concept?

Sandman is still my favorite comic story of all time. They are currently adapting another Neil Gaiman work (American Gods) to a very successful TV show. Do you think it would work for Sandman?

Sandman is getting a movie that looks interesting. I think it could be a great television series if it true to the source material. Animated may be the way to go but live action would be fine though it might be to expensive. Also it might be cool if it had Gaiman doing a show talking about each arc as they begin.
