From the beginning and for quite a while, this is the book I would have named as the best comic being published by any company. I liked it better than the X-Men. I liked it better than Spider-Man. This was the book I grabbed first to buy before all others. This was the epitome of the superhero art form.

The only misstep for me was Jericho. I never liked that guy. I just found him annoying. But I put up with him because Perez was at his peak and blowing the doors off and Wolfman was telling the best superhero stories ever told.

Part of what allowed this series to be so great was the cast. None of them had solo books. (Nightwing eventually would, in the mid-90s, but in the 80s he didn't.) This meant all of them could have their primary development in the team book. Wonder Girl appeared in the Wonder Woman comic now and then, and Kid Flash often appeared in the Flash comic, yet nevertheless, if push came to shove, the Titans book was popular enough to have clout enough to drive the bus as far as these characters were concerned. Cyborg, Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire only existed in the team book so they certainly could develop freely there. Now all of this could be said equally as truly about the X-Men, but the X-Men had a far more volatile roster. The Titans were more like the Fantastic Four. There was a core team that was always there. Now and then an additional character or two would join, but the core was constant. Yet the book's advantage over the FF was the size of its core: seven (or eight if you include Jericho) rather than four. It was really the perfect team book. Especially since Nightwing, Wonder Girl, and Kid Flash could be used at any time to plug the team into the overarching Justice League mythos.

Did you read this book? If you didn't and still haven't, I highly recommend it, above all other DC books. Nothing DC has ever published was better than this. Not in the superhero genre.

I never read it but I do know of the characters from Teen Titans Go! My kids love that show. I like it too but sometimes it goes overboard with the humor and characterization.

I remember it being very popular and I am a fan of Wolfman and Perez.
I just checked mycomicshop. Is there a Showcase Presents New Teen Titans? I don't see one listed at that site.
