Super Dave:

Gene Okerlund:

Do you have any particular recollections of these gentlemen?

I remember watching Super Dave on Bizarre with John Byner in the early '80s. I found him hilarious. The obvious dummy getting destroyed in ridiculous stunts was almost as funny Super Dave's deadpan reactions to Byner's questions. Lots of fun.
And Bizarre would have a gratuitous topless woman in every episode, which was great when I was 12-15 years old. It was a different world back then.

I think Mean Gene started with the WWF on the same episode that introduced Hulk Hogan as the new champion. Or maybe that was my first memory of him. He was an excellent straightman and added some class to the otherwise lowbrow show. I loved his banter with Jesse The Body Ventura and he brought A-game enthusiasm to every show.
