I definitely grew up on WWF and remember Mean Gene, usually the butt of somebody's joke but taking it in stride.

I didn't know as much about Super Dave. I saw him on David Letterman a few times and it was one of the first examples of the uncomfortable interviews, which also includes Richard Simmons, Charles Grodin and Harrison Ford.
