Is there any chance the Akhenaten Jim Starlin introduced in Marvel Universe: The End was slyly intended to be connected to Aknaton in Dreadstar?

Sure wouldn't shock me. It's the sort of thing Jim Starlin would do, I think. I wouldn't say "connected" so much as Akhenaten was intended by Starlin to be the Marvel version of Dreadstar's Akhnaton.

It is interesting how similarly Aknaton is depicted in flashbacks in the Metamorphosis Odyssey compared with the subsequent depiction of Akhenaten in MU:TE.

Meanwhile, I have this weird urge to read a Dreadstar/Warlord team-up. (Warlord was Mike Grell's creation at DC.)

I suspect Starlin recycled the drawing of aknaton from the metamorphosis Odyssey and changed it up a bit.

Dreadstar needs to return.
