You can pick two - a male and a female. Or two males and two females if you want to vote in both categories: best and worst.

In this case "best" means "exemplifies the best spirit of the 90s."

"Worst" means "exemplifies the worst spirit of the 90s."

If you're considering many options, let's hear them!

You can skip "best" if all you have is "worst" - as I think may happen.

Sports figures, news anchors, actors or actresses, musicians, politicians, writers, painters, sculptors, dancers, entrepreneurs, CEOs, inventors, scientists, philosophers, religious leaders, criminals, dictators, serial killers, terrorists - anyone who might ever have appeared on the cover of a magazine is fair game.

Best Male: Howard Stern (yes best)

Best Female: Mariah. Sorry for Whitney, but her star had faded, and she really didn't do much for most of the decade. Mariah was a beast in the 90s with 7 albums selling nearly 50 million copies combined.

A strong case could probably be made for Oprah, but I chose Mariah over her because Oprah's empire began strongly in the 80s. I think by the 90s, it was inertia that pushed Oprah further upwards.

Worst Male: I think it's hard to compete with OJ. Right?

Worst Female: Tanya Harding.
