I was going to wait until this banner got used to talk about it, but it might have been overlooked with the tribute banner up now.

I feel like we did a helicopter banner not too long ago. I was going to wait a while before using this one. But this thread is as good as any to talk about the show and the film.

I liked the idea of Airwolf, saw a handful of them as a kid, but never got into it that hardcore. I actually picked up a DVD of the complete series a while back at Goodwill for like 5 bucks. I watched the first season and it's fairly solid, but kind of lost interest early in season 2. Maybe I'll get back to it someday. I like how Lance LeGault narrates the beginning of each episode for season 1 giving us a file briefing on this former soldier Stringfellow Hawke and how he's gone rogue and stolen the military's attack helicopter, then in the season finale he actually shows up, he goes from narrator to on-screen antagonist trying to bring Hawke in. I think in the first episode of season 2 he shows up again as a small town sheriff. But now he's got a mustache so we don't recognize him, right? I was hoping to get to that awful reboot season with Barry Van Dyke but I'm a long ways from that.

Lance LeGault was one of the best ideas the series had.

I like Blue Thunder, I believe I saw it in the theater as a wee lad.

I didn't even remember it was a movie.

I suppose the guys using the high tech surveillance chopper to spy on the naked ladies wouldn't fly today, huh?

I watch this every few years and I still like it. I remember they launched a TV series with Dana Carvey, and for some reason Dick Butkis and Bubba Smith. As I recall it was pretty bad. But I'm still hoping choppers can come with a whisper mode, and I try to check my sanity with a wristwatch every now and again.

I wonder if I would like the film if I watched it today. Maybe Netflix has it.
