In the Mouth of Madness has been on my must-see list for a long time, I think I saw part of it on TV once.
I think a lot of people missed out on The Monster Squad back in the '80s, although I saw it in the theater. One I had never heard of was Near Dark which seemed right up my alley but I never even heard of it until the 2000s.

I think Mouth of Madness is one of Carpenters most under appreciated movies. It should have shown more of the Lovecraft monsters though I remember seeing an article where Carpenter had his budget lowered during shooting rendering more creature effects impossible.
