. . .I sort can't stand his stuff any more. I have nothing against him or the excellence of his skills.

Back in the 90s, he was probably the number artist to get me running to the local comics store like the slavering dog that i was. He was certainly a revolutionary artist; especially with marvels which was a perfect vehicle for his photo-realism.

But now? All I see are bloated/constipated super-heroes with Alex Ross' face! A guy told me once that Ross puts his face on all his heroes, I can't unsee that.

I enjoyed both Marvels and Kingdom Come... more than I liked the oversize comics he did. I liked seeing the photo-realistic renderings of what the characters might look like in real life... but...

I also felt like, once I'd seen it, I'd seen it. And I didn't really need to see any more.
