> > I get what you are saying but I think we were just supposed to assume that once Peter "lept" out of that timeline that his former self just finished the task as is. Basically, everything Peter did was what had already happened. He just doesn't remember being possessed by his future self for a few seconds. When you go back and read ASM #6 or one of those issues, let's just say that for one panel we ae looking at the future Spiderman. He can't change things because it already happened that way? > That's the way I read it, as well. But you're missing the point. He did change some things - clearly, on panel. Some of the conversations and events in the panels were very different - I can't remember which to be fair, but I'm sure another board poster can help you out with the details - but what was very clearly changed by time, things that already happened was the invasion by Dormammu and Dr. Strange being the catalyst. When Peter changed time, Reed Richards never allowed Dormammu to escape, henceforth, there would be no logical reason for Peter to go back in time with Dr. Strange. Instead, Strange is captured by Mordo - wherever that led, we don't know - and Dormammu is left imprisoned. But your conundrum is... Peter wouldn't have stopped Reed using his machine unless he'd already seen the world wiped out by Dormammu. So hence either, as I've said, the Marvel universe has already been destroyed and this is a new one, which is crap, or this is the 616 Marvel universe and Peter has literally gone back and changed the course of events. And believe you me, if Peter can do it with something as massive as the destruction of the planet, he almost certainly has done it when he visited Lizard, Sandman, Electro et al. You with me? -Jeremiah Ecks, who hates time travel rubbish too. | |||||||
