Previous Post Pointless. That's the best word to describe most of the major Spider-Man "events" of recent years. Lately, the House of Ideas has been the House of Wasted Ideas as none of the "major" events seem to have been followed up on or even remembered a few issues later. Disassembled -- Forgotten and redone in The Other House of M -- Memories and angst from them never appear again The Other -- Any writer but PAD remember this even happened? Civil War -- Alright, I'll grant that the Civil War/Iron Man/Iron Spider had impact Unmasked -- Tons of story potential but once again only PAD seemed to use it for any substance. Could most of the stories in the other titles have been told without it? Pretty much. But, credit to writers for at least remembering this happened. Back in Black -- Climaxed in Part 4. Part 5 went nowhere. Aside from the costume, ignored in other Spider-Man appearances. (see New Avengers) Of course, if OMD/BND is a retcon or "reset" then pretty much all of JMS's run (or further back depending on how far they take it) has been pointless. I'll give OMD a chance, but if 20 years of character development are suddenly made pointless, seems to me like OMD will be a good jumping off point. > I don't think I'm going to get it. > I know I'll be picking up "Brand New Day" (some of my favorite writers are working on that revamp), but I'm still not sold on "One More Day". I am in 100% agreement with you right there. I'm here through OMD, but if it negates the last 20 yrs, or makes it that Pete and MJ never got married, then it's the perfect ending of the Spider-Man chapter for me. Hopefully if they do negate the marriage, and OMD is the last day they spend married, It'll be heart wrenching and I'll be happy to call it a day after that. Just means I'll no longer buy 4 titles. (Right now I buy all three main titles - soon to be one three times a month - and New avengers for spidey, so thats four titles I can save money on or buy other titles I guess) I have been thinking of trying Batman, Superman or a few other DC titles anyway. Anyone hear about Batman and the Outsiders starting back up?
