My God, yes. Stern's Avengers run was sheer brilliance, in my opinion. Do yourself a favour and pick up Avengers #270 - 277 (the Masters of Evil Surge-of-the-Mansion saga). It was this storyline that made me a life-long Avengers fan.

Add to his writing, the fact that John Buscema did the artchores on the title, and you're left with one of the shining moments of the title's history.
