> I don't know...OMD Part 1 seems to imply that it picks right up after BIB ("A few days ago [Aunt May] was smiling and talking"). A timeline just doesn't seem reconciable to me (if that's a word). I like most of JMS's writing, but I get the sense that the guy really doesn't care what goes on outside of his book.

Well, I generally don't pay attention to references to the passage of time in comic books anyway, but if you want a no-prize type explanation, I suppose you could say that was Peter being overly dramatic, to emphasize the point that just recently Aunt May was up and about. So, let's say it's been three weeks since May got shot, a relatively short time, and Peter says it's been days to REALLY drive the point home that it wasn't that long ago since May was okay.

One of the main things that lead to believe that OMD doesn't pick up right after Back in Black is the fact that at the beginning of #544, Peter and MJ are out of money. Whereas at the end of Back in Black, they were coming close to burning through half their funds. Since they moved May to a less expensive hospital at the end of #543, that would mean that their remaining funds would last even longer, which leads me to think that at the start of OMD, it's been at least a week or two since Back in Black.

Spider-Man makes appearances in quite a few different books, including WWH, and numerous other books, such as the whole New Avengers stories that seem to also be taking place immediately after Civil War. I can't make sense of what's happening when. Shouldn't the editors put together an explanation? Or is that really asking for too much?
