It would probably make your post more beneficial if you could elaborate on your statements.
What makes Spider-Girl a good read to me these days is the strength of the supporting cast and the sheer number of plot points being incorporated into the story. Since this was something that BND Spider-Man creators emphasized in interviews prior to OMD, I was really thinking that Spider-Man would be a good read.
What makes the two different IMO is that I recognize the characters in ASG-- it's hard for me to reconcile the characters in ASM with what I have been reading for years. And that's not to say that ASG characters are static and ASM characters dynamic-- quite the opposite actually. ASG characters continue to develop while years have development have been summarily wiped out in ASM characters.
