Reply Subj: More Ben Reilly?

The full solicits for August are now up on Marvel.com. Lots of great stuff coming out but what surprised me was the solicit for Marvel Spotlight #1. Featuring a Ben Reilly as Scarlet Spider cover image the book seems to be about major upcoming Marvel stories (the original Human Torch back, the new creative team for Daredevil) including something about the Clone Saga.

Any thoughts? Trade paperback of the Clone Saga? Omnibus? The return of Ben Reilly to the Marvel U?

Reprinting the Clone Saga would be really hard to do, since it was a subplot in the titles for so long. And is Marvel really going to put alot of focus reprinting stories that "didn't really happen"? Plus you would think that if this were just a tpb printing, they would use the proper art for it, and not just some cutout of the Scarlet Spider.

It just makes sense for Marvel to hype up the return of Ben Reilly/Scarlet Spider. Put him on the cover of Amazing in a face off against Peter/Spider-Man, and people will be interested and pick up the title. And Marvel doesn't even have to necessarily bring him back. I think Marvel even said that there was one more major surprise that OMD reversed, and this could certainly qualify. But yeah, in an earlier thread, I called this.

For my next prediction, it's really two ideas. The first is that we get a new Green Goblin who isn't Norman Osborn. Norman tries to find out who it is, Harry might go crazy thinking that it's really him, etc. In order to establish that the new GG is a major threat, he kills off one of the supporting characters. Which is my second prediction, death of a supporting character. The book seems to be a little overcrowded in the supporting cast, especially with MJ coming back, and Flash supposedly becoming a bigger part of the book. I'd put my money on that the new blonde geekish girl. The GG pushes her off a bridge.
