Subj: I made my best guess at a translation Posted: Mon Jun 01, 2009 at 01:06:49 pm EDT (Viewed 12 times) | Reply Subj: Spidey comic strip? Posted: Sun May 31, 2009 at 09:13:29 am EDT (Viewed 182 times)
The language is Finnish, which I have no back ground in, but I did a little research and have come up with the following possible translation. The "title" TYOVAENOPISTO perhaps means some kind of vocational training college. That general idea certainly fits with the context. OPISTO is an institute, academy, training college, school, etc. TYOVAEN is a noun fragment that seems to be associated with work, labor, etc. I am more confident about my translation of the class assignment on the chalkboard: PIIRRA SARJAKAVA OMASTA ELAMASTA --- "draw a comic strip of your own life". It's often hard to tell what will be considered funny in one culture as opposed to another. I imagine that the contrast between the normal, everyday lives of the students could be a bit funny. I hope this helps. It looks like Spidey is facing Mysterio in one panel, and Electro in another. Quote: This is possibly funny. Just found online. Can anyone translate?(Or delete if offensive.)
