Oh right that makes sense - thank you.

Seeing as how Aunt May was also having issues with JJJ (Albeit less so than with Norman), I just wanted to check if I missed something.

So I just finished reading issue 595 and I had a question.
Since when did Peter and JJJ become angry at each other?

I have read pretty much every issue of Spider-Man up until the reboot in 1998 and then I just started again after BND. I don't remember Peter and JJJ ever having a bad relationship before (other than Peter thought he was just a cheap old goat). And last I remember Aunt May liked JJJ for helping to give her nephew a job.

So since when did the Parker and JJJ relationship turn sour?

In the first issue of BND, Petert yelled at Jonah about a late paycheck -- the Bugle was in financial trouble because of Dexter Bennet's takeover attempts -- and caused him to have a heart attack.

Given that said heart attack left Jonah unconscious in the hospital, and that his wife then sold the Bugle to Bennet, it seems fairly clear why JJJ and Peter aren't getting along.
