Two things. One: I am enjoying this comic immensly. One of the few hard copies I buy these days, as they are so darn expensive. Two: is it really selling badly?? Highly doubt it. Several issues have gone through multiple printings. Also the closest comic shop to me can't keep it on the shelf.

I too love the book and I feel there's a lot of a very Peter Parker type of origin within her. There's different things that make her an "outcast" in her world. She isn't a thick glasses, orphaned science geek. Hell science geeks are some of the most popular and renowned people in our world. She's an outcast for different reasons.

But I really do see a lot of Peter Parker in her. There's some differences here because there's no Ditko injecting some moral ambiguity (sometimes Ditko era Spidey he EVENTUALLY does the right things but for the wrong reason and is kind of a jerk about everything. If you removed the superhero hype stuff on the cover you'd honestly wander if he's going to become the next Magneto or not because Flash shoved him in a locker too many times). But I really like having a young hero in the mix, a young hero that represents the diversity of the world and even though it is Jersey, a hero OUTSIDE OF NEW YORK!

I don't buy the floppies but I did buy the recent trade.

Sales were 32000-ish for September. There was an odd fluctuation the month before that where sales actually went up...maybe due to the Wolverine or Lockjaw thing or something? I dunno.

But I love the book and hope it sticks around for a long while. Kamala is too cool to be stuck in some teen hero hell.
