I may be wrong but I think that you are talking about paranoid schizophrenia and that's true.
Most of the time, these people are not responsible of what they are doing.
Quote:I'm tired of hearing that Carnage/Kasady is psycho. A psycho would be out of touch with reality or wouldn't understand what he or others are doing.[...]someone who is incapable of remorse.
I used to think the same about psychopaths but, actually, contrary to popular belief (for example their portrayals in fiction), there are no main differences between psychopaths & sociopaths.
Actually, I've read many interesting Canadian articles about criminology (I don't know why but Canada is one of the best countries in the world when it comes to research in criminology).
It depends of the criminologist or the forensic psychologist but most of the time, they don't make a difference. Someone is incapable of remorse. Period.
So, most of the time, a psychopath is considered responsible by courts and judges and goes to prison and not to an asylum.
In "supermax" prisons, more than one person in three prisoners could be considered psychopath or sociopath.

Quote:Kasady clearly knows that he is doing evil.
I agree. Yes, he does.
So, he should go to jail and not to an asylum.
I used to be a shrink and let me tell you that all of the Personality Disorder criteria overlap. Infact they are essentially identical. Labels and diagnosis mostly exist just for insurance and billing purposes and do not really help treatment.
Axis 2 is generally considered incurable and the treatment is prison or being drugged up till they are harmless.
