The Superior Foes of Spider-Man 017

HILARIOUS conclusion. Oooh snap! THAT's why they had the running gag of not naming Boomerang's GF! Wow, now SHE's bedding HIM? Eww. It was nice (and a relief) to see so many danglers tied up in a finale - and there were sooo many danglers. And look who makes a "spectacular" comically understated cameo on the last page! Of course, the big dangler that follows ie. until we see them again: Is the new leader of the Maggia carrying around a disembodied talking head and driving a comically-blatant Spider-mobile knockoff?! What made you laugh?! Did you shed a tear for Mirage? Whose story do you want to see followed up on most? How 'bout some links served up? Here y'go...

I miss Dad and Dan.

I'm anxious to check this series out, but I think that I remember the author saying that none of these characters are redeemable. I don't really see Boomerang as being all that irredeemable. He's a killer for hire (Or was, in the past. I don't know what's really changed.), and they're usually pretty easy to change or reform (Or at least retire.). Mostly, he seems to just get treated like a chump. I think that he can make for a bigger and more threatening Spider-Man villain than he's been. I don't see him as being all that evil or hardened though. BUT, I do think that it would be interesting to really get a look into his past. His origin just states that he used to be a famous baseball player, and that's rather vague. When was it explained that he took bribes and the like? I think that came from the Handbooks, not the actual comics themselves.
