I had high hopes for this, but the warnings were right.
Slott uses the opportunity to "show" how marriage fans are stupid and use a straw man of a story line to "prove" it.

It's a shallow and horribly executed attempt to get people to embrace a single Peter Parker.

Complete waste of $$ and an even bigger waste of time.

Anyone hoping this was a chance to get back the real spiderman if it just sold well, will be horribly disappointed

Its not even an interesting story. It's just a horrible story. Add insult to injury, its a horrible story designed to make a married Peter Parker look rediculous.

Agreed,

We get a rehash of the old Brock/Venom vs Spidey again, only now Venom knows Peter is a father and of course targets his family.

Meanwhile the Avengers are wiped out by a one dimensional villain even as they hoped Spidey would aid them. Uhm.....all Spidey would have done is die in the fight along with them.

MJ showed her usual cleverness by luring Venom to a building that was on fire and using the fire engine siren to distract him until Spidey shows up.

After that, it is the usual fight except at the end when Spidey gets told the building is empty of civilians and fire fighters. He then literally brings the place down and it sure looks like Venom doesn't survive.........but of course this is Marvel, land of reboots and resets and cliche nonsense so we will see if Venom is gone.

Of course it doesn't really matter since this is all part of the giant "What IF" machine that is Marvel's own Secret Crisis Convergence, so do any of you think this will be the status quo when Secret Bore is done? Of course it won't be.

This is just a flimsy what if story to show how allegedly bad it would be if Peter were married and a father.
